The dead sea salt pumpkin spice soap was very popular on Etsy when I had it in stock. It smelled amazing and I think the photograph really sold it. I brought it to the craft fairs as well and I swear people walking past my table would stop to take a look at it.
You’ll need a 2 pound clear soap base for this soap.
You will need one ounce of shea butter and one ounce of sweet almond oil.
You will also need rubbing alcohol and dead sea salt.
I buy all my ingredients at New Directions.
I also bought the orange Lab color.
You can also pick up the Pumpkin Spice fragrance oil.
1. Melt the clear soap base in a double boiler. Don’t boil it. Just melt it. There is a difference. Once it has melted you can add your extra ingredients and mix it well.
2. Add 2 squirts of the orange Lab color. Add 3 squirts of the fragrance oil. Pour it into your mold and set your timer. You will need to wait around 15 minutes.
3. Squirt the top of the soap with rubbing alcohol. Sprinkle hard the dead sea salt on top. You want the dead sea salt to sink and not just coat the top. For a two pound soap base you will need around 4 tablespoons of the dead sea salt.
One thing to keep in mind is that the top of the soap will take a few days to dry once it is has been released from the mold and cut to your desired size. I lay it on wax paper and allow the top to air dry for 48 hours. Once the top dries you can wrap it anyway you want and sell, sell, sell!!!
